The proposal responds to the competition aim to propose new urban models. From the beginning the scheme combines both production and residential uses; we focus on the algae farming and salt plate production and the development of innovative residential blocks. It results in a hybrid tissue of interwoven housing elements that react in symbiosis: they provide each other structural support as well as shelter and climate conditioning. The housing units, clearly experimental, are arranged around an installation spines leaving to the residents to decide upon the internal layout of the rooms. The enclosure explores the thermal inertia built in wide blocks filled with gel that reacts to temperature changes. The project also includes a high building which is an algae research and processing centre. The construction and internal distribution is a vertical replica of the multilayered arrangement.
