The communal areas of this housing scheme are essential for the concept as they rule not only the social relations but the physical distribution of units; the building is lifted one storey from the ground and the entrance floor is a public garden with local vertical communication nodes. The U-shape block leaves a whole clean façade to the street and an inner side where galleries give access to the different flats. The continuous skin is literally a metal corrugated sheet that wraps the building, cutting out window opennings and including the bottom side of the ground floor slab. The roof element is also covered with the same solution with different inclination depending on the building’s orientation.
