Under current development, a new area in the outskirts of the city of Coruña in the north of Spain, the project explores the design of a residential block of 80 units in an open U-shape. The concept explores the notion of a big structure where housing units (prefabricated in single flat modules) are located between the bearing elements as in a big shelving system. The mecanoo-like system allows each level to have a different distribution; the access to the flats  is through a series of galleries that also change layout in the six storey building; therefore, the four different elevations change in respond to the orientation and number of flats per level. The access galleries are placed 50 cm under the floor level of the houses. They protect from the sun in the south and west orientation with elements that can open or closet he corridors in order to keep heat in winter or keep the sun out in summer.
